last minute

So, how organised are you? Have you been shopping and wrapping and ribbon-ing since November? Is everything ready under the tree? Or maybe you're like the rest of us and have left it to the last (ish) minute and are now scrabbling around wondering if it will ever be done...I saw the gorgeous work of Cambridge Imprint on the Persephone Books website. So how about an elephant mug, or a notebook or a box of cards to fill that stocking with?

To my sisters (part three)

Village Bakery 8.5x11

Cafe au Lait

Fancy Food Fight 8.5x11
And so (my dear sisters!) the third and final part of your Christmas print selection... Kelsey Garrity-Riley peoples her illustrations with round faced, rosy-cheeked little folks who all look so very happy! I was very lucky to get a rather beautiful silk scarf designed by Kelsey from Fancy French Cologne before they closed shop. Anyway, if this pleases you tootle over to her Etsy shop to see what you might like.

To my sisters (part two)

So, this is part two of your Christmas print choice (dear sisters!). Amanda White's naive collages are beautifully detailed and show the houses of writers and poets - Wordsworth, Keats, the Brontes, Jane Austen, Virginia Woolf, Derek Jarman all feature. Perhaps you have a favourite novelist or poet you think fondly of? Look at Amanda's Etsy page and choose their house...

I think my favourite is this one of the winter foxes leaping over the garden of Haworth Parsonage, the Yorkshire home of the Bronte sisters- doesn't it make you wish for snow, crackling fires, cinnamon scented cakes, cashmere scarves and the time to read Wuthering Heights or Jane Eyre?

To my sisters

I can't remember when I first came across the work of Phoebe Wahl- it was some time ago anyway and I have been following her since. Her wonderfully detailed pictures evoke a sense of home, of warm embraces, of security - rosy cheeked babes in arms, families around the table, clapboard houses tucked up in snowy woodlands, checked shirts papas and plump kneed mamas... Wouldn't you love to live like that, to be loved, cherished like that?

And so to my three dear sisters - I know Christmas time is ages away and it's way too early but...I am asking if you would like a Phoebe Wahl print as your gift- the first three images are available. In the next few weeks I'll show a couple of other artists as options (I know my taste may not necessarily be your taste!). Sorry to be starting so soon (too soon) but it will take a while to organise...
