powdered snow

The barest powdering of snow lies on the hill opposite the house, but it's enough to give the boys the fluttering hope that there will be more...enough to close school on Monday....enough to build snowmen and have snowball fights....meanwhile they are busy waiting....

....and I am busy roasting lamb with garlic and rosemary (one of my best Christmas presents: lamb organically reared by my sister-in-law Niamh)

 and of course Sunday lunch wouldn't be complete without roast potatoes...
